Email Setup

Setting up your email programTo set up a regular email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.), you will need:

  1. Your username - This is the email address that you have selected and which has been set up for you (the "henry" in "henry@yourdomain.com)"
  2. Your password - This was selected at the time your email account was set up.
  3. The POP3 (incoming) mail server (mail.yourdomain.com).
  4. The SMTP (outgoing ) mail server.

To find out the name of the SMTP server you will need to look at how your main email account (yourname@yourisp.net) is set up, because you will need to look at the name of the SMTP server that is given there.

You will be setting up a POP3 mail account.

You should have all the information you need now to set this up. The screen you will have will look something like what is shown to the right.

Outgoing server dataThere is one further step. In this case, under the button "More Settings". One tab will have more data for the outgoing server. In most cases you will have to validate your access to the mail server. For the most reliable results, filling in the "log on using" field with your ISP user name and the associated password will ensure that the email will work.

This process can be repeated for each email you have had set up.
